Randy Leiter
Founder and CEO

Mr. Leiter founded Aerolight Technologies to be a multidisciplinary technology development and consulting firm focused on bringing NewSpace understanding and thinking to customers large and small. He possesses a diverse background and technical experience spanning developmental R&D programs, commercial product development, and Government support in the Defense and Aerospace sectors. His experience in managing programs from conceptual study through deployed capabilities gives him a unique insight on the bridge between government, commercial, and technical ventures.

Previously, Mr. Leiter has held positions as a Program Manager at Orbital ATK (formerly Orbital Sciences) in the Advanced Technology Laboratory division, and as a SETA (Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance) supporting several DoD aerospace programs. This experience has giving him a unique insight bridging government, commercial, and technical ventures. While at Orbital, he managed multiple R&D efforts pertaining to Additive Manufacturing (AM), Small Satellites and Nanotechnologies. He has also gained extensive experience in Spacecraft Development, Integration and Test, Design Engineering, Systems Engineering, and Program Management. In 2013, he was awarded the Orbital Sciences "Warp-10" Award for Corporate Innovation, and helped pioneer the use of AM capabilities and practices for a range of satellite systems. Mr. Leiter also has experience with several Government and DoD customers, both managing efforts and as a trusted advisor.

Mr. Leiter holds a Master of Science degree in Engineering Management & Systems Engineering from the George Washington University in Washington, DC. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from the University of Massachusetts - Amherst. When he is not thinking about new SmallSat technologies, he enjoys sailing, kayaking, hiking, fly-fishing, home brewing, and being a part of the MakerSpace Community.
